How do I use the ftp server? (Windows) The purpose of this short tutorial is to help you accessing Synæsthesia Studios' ftp server, in order to exchange files during the mastering process. If you already know how to use ftp, this is all you will need to connect to Synæsthesia Studios: - Hostname: ftp.synaesthesiastudios.com - Username: Username@synaesthesiastudios.com - Password: Password - Port: 21 - Mode: Passive Mode If you are new to ftp, here are step-by-step instructions on how to connect to Synæsthesia Studios. All you need to do is download a freeware, and set its parameters properly. After this, you will have unlimited access to and from our ftp server. - Download the freeware CoffeeCup Free FTP: http://www.coffeecup.com/free-ftp/ - Double-click on the file, proceed to the installation and open the program. This screen should appear: - Click on the “Add” button in the lower left corner. A new window opens. - In the Profile Name field, type “Synaesthesia Studios”. Click on Next. - In the field called “Username”, type your Username and add “@synaesthesiastudios.com” after it. - In the field called “Password”, type your Password. Click on Next. - In the field “Hostname”, type exactly “ftp.synaesthesiastudios.com”. Click on Next. - On this screen, click on “No, I donʼt even know what that is.”, then on Next . - This is the last window: click on Finish. - You should now have exactly the same screen as below. Click on Connect.
You are now on the main screen. On the left part called “My Computer”, you can see the content of your hard drive. The right part called “My Site” shows the content of the server. This window works with dragʻnʼdrop: if you want to download a file that is on the server (on the right), click on it, keep the mouse button down, bring the mouse cursor above the area on the left (as if you wanted to move the file from the right window to the left window) and release the button. The file will be downloaded immediately. Likewise, you only need to dragʼnʼdrop files from the left to the right to upload them on the server. |
